With the cancellation of so many mass participation running events over recent weeks, including the London Marathon, UK charities are seeing a massive shortfall in expected funds.
That money, expected to contribute to £4 billion of charity income across the UK will have an enormous effect on the crucial work done across the sector.
To help support the many causes, New Balance has joined forces with Strava and the UK’s mass participation event organisers to launch the 2.6 Challenge.
Taking part in the New Balance x Strava 2.6 challenge is simple. All you need to do is sign-up to the challenge on Strava and log a 2.6-mile (4.2km) single activity over the 26th April – 2nd May 2020 and donate any amount to a UK charity of your choice.
The 40th Virgin Money London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event, raised £66.4 million in 2019.
For more information and to sign-up to the challenge, head to Strava.
As a thank you from New Balance for taking part, all participants will receive a 26% discount code to use at www.sportsshoes.com once the challenge is completed.
