Water, sweat, crush and shockproof to U.S. Military standards
The Jaybird Vista have been one of our top choices for running headphones since they were released back in the summer of 2019. To celebrate their popularity, Jaybird has released a special edition Planetary Green colorway that’s available now.

The Vista have sat firmly at the top of the pile when it comes to delivering some of the best technical features for runners, offering impressive personalized audio quality, 16 hours of battery life when combined with the case and a five-minute quick charge that gives an hour of play time.
For us, the most notable aspect of the Vistas is the size. The tiny ear buds are some of the smallest options we’ve tested and offer a snug fit that doesn’t fall out when running. The case is also noticeably smaller than most true wireless options out there and can easily be carried on long runs when six hours isn’t enough charge.
The launch of the new Planetary Green colorway draws attention to the durable features of the Vistas. As well as being water and sweat-proof to IPX7, the design, according to Jaybird, meets U.S. military MIL-STD 810G rugged compliant standards. That classification includes testing across repeated shock, vibration, drop and crush tests, as well as tropical humidity, hurricane-force water and desert sandstorm conditions.
It’s an element of the design Jaybird is calling Earthproof, and although most of us runners probably don’t tend to head out in desert sandstorms at the weekly parkrun, it’s always good to know that your expensive tech can take a beating.
“When we developed VISTA, we set out to build a headphone that lives up to the demanding conditions athletes face around the globe,” said Jamie Parker, CEO of Jaybird. “The Earthproof construction of VISTA, now meeting U.S. Military standards to withstand the harshest environments, is a strong acknowledgment of the bar Jaybird is setting in true wireless durability.”
The Planetary Green Jaybird VISTA are available online now costing £159.99.
