Weeks after her contract with Reebok ended, it looks like Toomey has found her new home
The footwear and apparel brand NOBULL sent an email on 16 July stating that “Tia-Clair Toomey is NOBULL”, alongside a video posted across its social media channels.
The news comes after a previous email from NOBULL that simply warned “Stay tuned, we’re dropping big news tomorrow” with a picture of the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, where the CrossFit Games are held, and the message “While Madison is sleeping…”
The video starts with the line: “I grew up on hard work” as Toomey trains alongside her coach and husband, Shane Orr. We watch as she performs a range of exercises before finishing with: “While Madison is sleeping, I am not. I’ve been training all my life. I know I’ve put in the hard work. I can’t wait to show people what I can do.”
The update comes a month after Toomey’s contract with Reebok came to an end, with people across social media speculating who she might move to based on various posts that she’s made. No official statement has been made by NOBULL at this point although Toomey has now been added to the team NOBULL page on the brand website.
Toomey follows closely in the footsteps of Katrín Davíðsdóttir who joined Team NOBULL earlier in June. Both will compete in the 2019 CrossFit Games taking place from 1 August.
Toomey has come first in the CrossFit Games in both 2017 and 2018 as well as a receiving a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
