Spending a week getting into shape doesn’t have to mean booking annual leave and going for endless sessions at your local gym.
This seven-day stay at the 5-star luxury Hotel Quelle Nature Spa offers a string of brilliant workouts in a magical mountainous setting, with access to miles of hiking and cycling trails and 10 steam or sauna rooms for when you need to catch your breath.

Hotel Quelle’s location in the Italian South Tyrol means you’ll feel flush with relaxation the second you arrive and check in.
The schedule for its fitness weeks varies throughout the year, but our picks are the Fit and Energy Weeks in late November. These include high-intensity Tabata interval training, circuits, and abs and back training, as well as Pilates and yoga sessions.
On top of these regular workouts, you’ll also be taken on guided morning hikes and given instruction in sun salutations.
The steam and sauna options include a dedicated Snow Sauna, designed to slowly cool you off after a hot sauna and relieve sore muscles and tension after an intense session in the gym.
And with seven different swimming pools, including two which extend outdoors from indoors, as well as a biological bathing pond for hardier wild swimmers, there are plenty of options for those who want to soothe their bones after class.
Handily, the hotel also serves up three meals a day, including a seven course dinner each night. A deep and restorative night’s sleep is nailed on after that.
Where to fly into
Hotel Quelle is two hours from Innsbruck and three hours from Venice. You can fly direct to the latter from the UK with EasyJet, Ryanair and British Airways.
