Everything you need to know about Get Sweat Go
Get Sweat Go was launched in 2019, as a new kind of site dedicated to helping people get more from the sports and physical activities they love.
The aim is to blend buying advice and getting the right gear, with helping people discover new places to do what they love, via fitness travel experiences and race ideas. Our network of writers are out there constantly trying races and kit – so Get Sweat Go is a distillation of that.
The site is split into three main sections:
GET – buy the right stuff (for the right budget) so you can enjoy the things you love. Our experts test and recommend the latest shoes and equipment, but we also get the lowdown on what elite athletes have in their kit bags, too.
SWEAT – do the things you love, better. That could mean guides and technique, or just inspirational stories.
GO – fitness travel experiences, the latest races, off-the-beaten rack hikes. We want to inspire you to do something incredible.
In 2023, the Wareable Media Group was acquired by Candr Media Group Limited and now Get Sweat Go is part of a big happy family with the likes of Trusted Reviews and What Digital Camera.
How we make money
At Get Sweat Go, we believe in providing valuable content without any paywalls or subscription fees.
The operational expenses of our editorial and development teams are sustained through revenue generated from advertising and affiliate partnerships.
Affiliate Links and Price Comparison
We incorporate affiliate links leading to products and services across various retailer platforms. Clicking on these links or making purchases through them may result in compensation for us. Throughout our pages, we exhibit prices and promotions to assist our readers in making informed buying decisions.
When a reader finalizes a purchase via the provided retailer link, we receive a commission, which is a standard form of compensation for referrals (referred to as ‘affiliates’).
Our affiliate links are either automatically integrated post-publication through software or manually inserted by our team members.
We consistently review a wide range of products to uncover the best deals available and prioritize showcasing the most competitive prices, with few exceptions for retailers lacking credibility. In such instances, we spotlight Recommended Deals, highlighting dependable customer service over mere affordability.
Periodically, we may endorse specific offers from certain retailers. In these cases, we openly disclose this arrangement. We uphold the principle of impartial editorial content crafted by our dedicated journalists and editors.
Additionally, we occasionally feature advertorials (paid-for editorial content) and sponsored content, clearly marked for full transparency.
Advertising
We maintain a strict separation between our advertising and editorial departments. Advertisers are explicitly informed that they do not influence our reviews or ratings.
Get Sweat Go editorial team
Tom Wheatley – Founding editor
Get Sweat Go editor Tom has cycled across mountains, swam through lakes, raced around the world and desperately tried to avoid injury at the CrossFit Open. Tom is a qualified PT, a dedicated hiker, a consistently mediocre tennis player and a runner with 11 marathons and over 300 other races under his belt. When he’s not sweating through a HIIT workout or writing about it, you can find him eating paella, watching Hitchcock films or listening to 1980s power ballads.
James Stables – Editorial Director, Candr Media Group
Get Sweat Go co-founder James Stables dreamed up the idea for the site while hiking in Scotland, and its core focuses of running, walking and yoga are all close to his heart.
James enjoys running – and is also returning to the fray of marathon running after a few years away from the 26.6 distance. He regularly races distances between 5KM and half marathon, as well as embarking on a new yoga journey, and chipping away at a stubborn golf handicap.

Paul is a runner, and recently trained and ran the London Marathon, and has also embarked on other fitness challenges, such as a non-stop 100km ultramarathon, which his achilles has still not recovered from.

Conor Allison – Editor-at-large, Candr Media Group
